Art Gazette began purchasing and commissioning artworks in 2019, and now works with more than 130 emerging, as well as more established, artists worldwide. This number is growing weekly.

Art Gazette is unique in supporting artists’ practice by providing them with a curated online platform, while buying their work up-front and in series for its inventory, which now comprises over 2000 artworks.

We aim to make original, high quality work affordable and accessible in order to enable our clients to create inspiring and elegant environments in public and private spaces.

Founded by passionate art collectors, curators, artists and art professionals, Art Gazette was established to provide guaranteed cash-flow to help support artists’ studio practice, while creating an international platform to which artists can sell smaller-scale, original works to form a curated catalogue of contemporary art.

It is our belief that through producing works for us for only a few days a month, artists will be able to generate sufficient income to help support the creation of larger, more ambitious bodies of work.

How Does it Work?

The selection of artworks for our online catalogue is a curated process. Any artists who are interested in collaborating with Art Gazette can register on this platform to submit their works for consideration by our team of experienced advisors.

for artists

If chosen by Art Gazette’s curatorial team, multiple artworks stand to be purchased from the artist at an agreed-upon price for inclusion in our inventory. With a focus on quality and uniqueness, Art Gazette is committed to acquiring works from contributing artists on an ongoing basis. Once online, works will become available for clients to purchase for public and private spaces worldwide.

  • Only A1, A2, A3 and A4 artworks are considered - we believe larger and more complex works should remain the focus of commercial galleries;
  • Selected artists can present any number of works to our panel, and can upload works online onto their own “artist portal (AP)”;
  • Works are purchased unframed, allowing artists to dispatch works via standard mail services;
  • Art Gazette will pay artists within 10 working days of receiving an invoice and receipt of the works.

for clients

Art Gazette clients can use our online platform to browse through our diverse range of contemporary artworks in different media and genres. Once registered, potential buyers can add artworks to either a wish list or create a confirmed selection, which can then be submitted to Art Gazette’s team for quotation. Alternatively, clients can draw on Art Gazette’s curatorial expertise and request our team’s assistance to create a unique group of artworks specifically for their space.

What sets us apart?

While there are many art aggregator platforms around the world, only Art Gazette presents a fully curated portfolio that is owned by the business itself, sourced from an international selection of artists.

Our unique acquisition and pricing model is simple, straightforward and designed to ensure that we do not compete with commercial galleries. We have developed a formula that offers unprecedented value to clients, while being sustainable for both artists and Art Gazette.

There is no pre-sale consignment of artworks, no agent, and no additional administration with third parties because Art Gazette purchases art directly from artists, which is then presented on our online platform.

We also appreciate that artists often work in series, or studies toward more resolved work, but that this important part of their practice seldom sees the light of day beyond their studios. Art Gazette is interested in acquiring this experimental and innovative work.

Finally, as part of our commitment to artists, all Art Gazette clients are contractually obliged to pay 15% of the proceeds of sale in the secondary market of any artwork sold within a five-year period from acquisition, directly back to the artist.
